This is Sophomore, a simple skin with a slightly more complicated history.
I guess it was in 2002 that I discovered Ahra's SophontAmp (v2.0) skin. I liked the concept but thought it could be nicer if it were smoothened and cleaned up. I did a first version of what would later become Sophomore (I don't have to explain the name, do I?). I Tried to contact the original author but that did not work, so in the end I decided not to release it. Funny note is that it was all done in MS paint that day, because I did not master Adobe well enough to do anything else but clichéd abstract wallpapers.
Here we are back in 2004. I recently rediscovered the never finished Sophomore skin. To my surprise it had not really aged (that is the fortune of a clean slightly retro-futuristic skin I guess) so I was thrilled to see whether I could finish it today, in the days of Winamp 3/5 Freeform violence and new techniques. I decided to loose all references to the original skin so I could release it als private work without the problems I would have when I kept the original design. I also had to completely redo the playlist and eq, because they were not able to stand the test of time. Alltogether the new version took me 3 weeks to finish, which was considerably longer than I hoped for. Now you can judge whether the work was worth it.
There are some bugs or elements I left out, mostly because I was to lazy to do them or just didn't want them in my skin. I don't know of that is a problem in WA5 if you find something of considerable importance you can contact me about it. If you use the EQ with insanely extreme settings you'll also discover a bug there, but I could not imagine why anyone would want these kind of settings.
So here is it, my first published skin. I hope you like it.
