This skin is the latest in my series
of "Art History Skins". This time, however,
I have opted to skin in the style of a
single artist rather than a culture or
art movement.
The "subject" of the skin is obviously
Frank Lloyd Wright- the most important
architect of the 20th century. A master
builder, Wright also created interior
design elements- lamps, chairs, tables.
The aim of such objects was to complement
the buildings that he had created- therefore
serving not only as furniture that one
finds to match the interior, but logical
extensions of the structure.
Among his most famous design elements
is his "Art Glass" - colored glass
used as skylights and windows exquisitely
designed by Wright himself. The Art Glass
depicted geometric patterns- several being
abstractions of nature. And it is these
patterns I have sought to draw from in
this skin. Most of them come from Wright's
veritable showcase of Art Glass, the
1909 "Robie House" - which Wright boldy
described as the "Cornerstone of Modern
Architecture".
The house contains a staggering 174 panels of
art glass windows and doors- each a
unique masterpiece within itself.

This skin is also special in that it is a
contest entry- the qualifications for the
contest require it to be a "remix" of
another artist's skin. (hence the title)
So this skin was doubly challenging as
I aimed not only to skin in the style of
Wright Art Glass, but also "remix" another
skin: "Slick Series 5" by Garet Jax- to whom
I wish to thank for giving me the permission
to use his skin for the contest.
